Introduction:
“My name is Judith Burnett. I work
at Cambridge House Community College in Valencia, Spain and I
teach Year 2. I have done this job for many years now except for
4 years ago when I took some time out to work as a volunteer for
the British Volunteer Organisation VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas)
in the Far North of Cameroon."
"Cameroon is a very beautiful
country but some parts of it are very poor. The area I worked
in one of those areas. On my return I sought the support of my
school, friends and family to find funding for the construction
and running costs of a small rural school in Gouria in the Kapsiki
mountains."
"Malima Primary School has been open for
4 years now and is going from strength to strength. I visit every
year and have kept sponsors up to date with the progress made."
"In August 2004 I will be taking up another
Placement with VSO working at Malima supporting the teaching staff
of our school and other local schools."
